Charles Tilly (1929–2008) was a renowned American historian, political scientist, and sociologist who taught at several prominent universities including Harvard, University of Michigan, and Columbia University. He was known for his extensive publications and contributions to social sciences. Together with his wife Louise A. Tilly, he worked at the New School for Social Research.
