Georg Moser was born as the eighth of eleven children in a craftsman's family. After studying theology and being ordained as a priest, he served in various church roles including vicar, boarding school prefect, and student pastor. He earned his doctorate in 1962 focusing on eschatology and took leadership of the Catholic Academy Stuttgart-Hohenheim in 1961.
